Stuffed onions with sausage
Stuffed onions with sausage are a super tasty and simple second course. Tasty and with few ingredients. The sweet flavor of onions pairs perfectly with the flavor of sausages.
Ingredients
9 golden onions
300 g sausage
150 g stale bread
1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
40 g grated Parmesan cheese
parsley to taste
salt to taste
extra virgin olive oil to taste
rosemary to taste
pepper to taste
Steps
Start the preparation of the stuffed onions with sausage from the filling. Cut the stale bread into cubes. Place it in a bowl, then add the milk. Stir and let it rest for about 15 minutes. After the time necessary for the bread to absorb the milk, squeeze it and transfer it to another container. Add the sausage, salt, pepper, chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese. Stir vigorously until you get a homogeneous mixture. Once the filling has been prepared, devote yourself to cleaning the onions. Remove the peel, then remove the central part with a knife. Finely chop the onion pieces that remain from creating the space for the filling. Add the chopped onions to the bread and sausage mix. Add a tablespoon of breadcrumbs and mix again. Stuff the onions with the filling, then place them in a baking dish. Add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, rosemary and grated Parmesan cheese. Finally, add about half a glass of water. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 45 – 50 minutes. When cooked, take it out of the oven and enjoy the stuffed onions together with your diners.
