Polenta with Onions
Polenta with Onions is a tasty and delicious dish ideal for polenta lovers. An inexpensive dish, with a strong flavor that will win you over at the first taste. Ideal as finger food, as an appetizer or as a dish that can accompany sausages. We will use slices of leftover polenta, onions and grated cheese. I will add black olives cut in half If you wish, you can also add anchovy fillets, strips of pepper in oil or pieces of sausage (browned previously). Ingredients
leftover polenta that we will cut into 5 fairly thick slices
4 fairly large white onions that we will slice thinly
100 grams of grated cheese
black olives to taste
oil
salt
pepper to taste
Preparation
Peel and thinly slice the onions. In a saucepan put a drizzle of oil and the onions. Let them fry slowly, being careful not to color them too much (if necessary add a little water), salt and add pepper to taste. Heat a grill pan, toast the slices of polenta on both sides (if you prefer you can pass the polenta in a hot oven, aesthetically grilled polenta is more choreographic.) Place the slices of polenta in a lightly buttered baking dish. Bake at 200 C degrees for about ten minutes, however for the time necessary for the grated cheese to melt and make a delicious crust.
