Meatloaf with Caramelized Onion with beer

A reinterpretation of the classic meatloaf that I hope you will enjoy. A quick dish to make that will surely amaze your guests with its perfect mix of flavors.

Ingredients

400 gr of mixed minced meat (beef and pork)
200 gr of pizza dough
1 fresh chili pepper
Extra virgin olive oil
1 caramelized onion with beer
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 bell pepper
Sweet paprika
Pepper
Salt

Procedure

Cut the chili pepper finely and add it to the meat. Season with salt and pepper, add the paprika and knead everything until you get a homogeneous mixture. Shape it to form the base of the meatloaf: you can give it the shape you prefer, I made it rectangular. In a pan, heat two tablespoons of oil with a whole clove of garlic (without the core) and brown the meat. This operation serves to seal the outer surface and retain the juices of the meat inside the meatloaf. Roll out the pizza dough, so that it is large enough to wrap the meatloaf. Clean the pepper: peel it and remove the seeds and the white inner part. Cut it into strips. Place the meatloaf in the center of the pizza dough. At the top, add the caramelized onions to the beer and the pepper in strips. Wrap everything in pizza dough, seal carefully and bake at 180°C for 15-20 min. The dish will be ready when the pastry crust is golden brown.

Tips
For cooking meat, remember that with a high flame the outer part will brown well leaving the juices inside. To accompany the dish I recommend a mushroom sauce, the creaminess and its taste that it has gives the dish lightness and freshness. If you can't find fresh chili pepper you can safely use the dried one, remember to add it to the mixture while you work it. Before sealing the minced meat, remember to brown a small piece and taste, to be sure that it is properly salted.
