Breakfast pizza
Pizza as a food that brings people together also plays a leading role in the world of cinema. How can we forget Kevin in Mamma I Missed the Plane and his double cheese pizza, or Julia Roberts in Mystic Pizza and the secret ingredient in the sauce of the Portuguese restaurant, or in the film Eat pray and love, in the Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Naples, or in Pretty Woman while Julia Roberts goes on a shopping spree served and revered, sees her pizza delivered.
Even Woody Allen in Manhattan pays tribute to pizza, in one of the most memorable scenes in cinema, where Isaac (Woody Allen) and Tracy (Mariel Hemingway) are having dinner at John's Pizzeria, they are conversing about an important topic but Isaac's only thought is that his pizza with anchovies, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and green peppers is missing coconut.
But before him, let's stay in Italy with Sofia Loren and the fried pizzas in L'oro di Napoli, fried in front of the house in the alley.
And what about John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever who in the opening scenes of the film, walking to the rhythm of music through the streets of New York, comes across Lenny's Pizza, a refreshment point where you can eat a particular pizza with an incredibly irresistible flavor. Needless to say, the good Manero (John Travolta) will be tempted by ordering a "double decker", i.e. two slices of pizza stuck "face-to-face" against each other and will enjoy them calmly and rhythmically throughout the opening sequence of the film, accompanied by the notes of Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees.
