FRIED EGG SANDWICH
Easter Monday is the day dedicated to picnics, lunches away from home, and so on and so forth. A recipe particularly suitable for an outdoor meal is the fried egg sandwich. It is a hearty sandwich, to be prepared in the morning and to be enjoyed without problems even a few hours later.
The sandwiches with ham, eggs and cheese are a tasty preparation for brunch, they are made by frying the eggs in a non-stick pan and spreading the mustard on the slices of bread that will then be covered with a slice of cooked ham, a slice of provolone cheese and a fried egg. A second slice of ham will complete the preparation.
Ingredients
Bread 8 slices
Eggs 4
Cooked ham 300 g
Provolone cheese 150 g
Butter 50 g
Mustard 3 tablespoons
Extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon
Preparation
Spread the mustard on the slices of bread in a box; Fry the eggs in a non-stick pan just greased with extra virgin olive oil. Place on 4 slices of bread a few slices of smoked ham, 1 fried egg and a few slices of provolone cheese; Cover with another slice of bread. Grease each sandwich externally and cook it covered in a pan until it is golden on both sides. Serve the sandwiches hot.
Recommendation
This preparation is the reinterpretation of a typically French recipe called Croque Madame. If you remove the egg and put the cheese externally it becomes a Croque Monsieur.
