Chianti Le Rancole

So if in the wine shop you find the Chianti Le Rancole, rest assured, it is the wine currently on the market. The company is located 3 km from Subbiano nel Casentino and only 13 from Arezzo, one of the six provinces involved in the denomination, here Poggiotondo was the first to produce Chianti. In short, how is Le Rancole wine? A delight. 80% Sangiovese fruit and for the remaining Canaiolo part, after undergoing fermentation in glass cement tanks it remains there for about two years, 40% is transferred to French oak barrels where it remains for at least a year. It has a transparent ruby color with garnet nail, the nose is a promise of juicy pulp, so much ripe fruit at the right point, cherry and plum above all, but also raspberry and plum, macerated flowers, a thin vein of blood orange, puffs of aromatic herbs. On the palate it shows that the owner has understood his wines, because it reveals itself in perfect balance, with a rather rare expressive depth for this type, tannins still slightly drying but only for a few seconds, copious and ripe fruit at the right point, accompanied by a sweet and delicate spice, persistent and suggestive finish. A Chianti decidedly above average, also as an evolutionary capacity, I am sure that if it were forgotten in the cellar for a decade and more, we would still find it "in shot", vigorous, not at all off.
