Red Wine Sorbet🍷🍨
This is a delicious and refreshing dessert for a hot summer day or a tasty palate cleanser.
Ingredients
3 cups of fruity red wine such as Merlot, Zinfandel or Grenache1 ½ cups of still water2 lemons1 medium orange1 ½ cups of sugar3 tablespoons of honey1 tablespoon of Crème de cassis (a blackcurrant juice called Ribena can be used as a substitute)Optional garnishes: Chocolate, berries, or fresh mint.
Directions
Place the water, honey, sugar, red wine, sliced lemons, and oranges into a pot and bring them to a boil on medium heat. Stir until the ingredients are combined and the sugar and honey have dissolved. Strain the ingredients through a fine sieve or mesh, add the Crème de cassis or Ribena and then refrigerate until cold. Pour the sorbet into a metal pan and freeze. Stir periodically until it freezes, approximately 2 hours. Scoop the red wine sorbet into a wine glass or small bowl and garnish.
