Americano Cocktail🍹

An Americano cocktail is a delicious and refreshing aperitif cocktail made with Campari. It's light and low in alcohol with tart citrus and sweet spice flavours. It's an excellent aperitif cocktail to sip and enjoy while stimulating your appetite before a meal.

In this recipe, I provide alternate options to using the traditional sweet vermouth. Using one or a blend of these options will bring out deeper, more intense flavours in this cocktail.

Ingredients (makes one serving)
1 1/2 oz Campari
1 1/2 oz fortified wine (ex: Port (tawny), Sherry (Oloroso or PX), Marsala, Madeira, or sweet Vermouth)
Soda water
Garnish options: Orange or lemon slice/peel and/or a sprig of Rosemary or Thyme

Directions

Fill a highball glass with ice, then add Campari and the fortified wine of your choice and stir for about 15 seconds. Top up with soda water and stir gently once or twice. Add your choice of garnish.

Cheers, The wine critic🥂
