Spritz with an appetizer
Fresh, slightly sparkling and fragrant: a glass of Spritz is always the right choice for a self-respecting aperitif, especially in combination with delicious appetizers, tasty cheeses and high quality cold cuts. The evenings en plein air are a must of the summer: gardens, terraces and terraces are filled with people, music and atmosphere where there is no shortage of good cocktails. Like the spritz: simple drink, with an irresistible scent, able to give a feeling of pure freshness to anyone who tastes it. Spritz is a cocktail based on prosecco, elderflower or lemon balm syrup, soda and mint leaves (the low alcohol content enhances the fresh scent of elderflowers, while mint gives it freshness).
Did you know that it was created as an alternative drink? There are several theories about its origins: many say that it was born in 2005 in Naturno, a town in the province of Bolzano, cradle of many gastronomic specialties such as Speck that with this drink seems to get along very well.
Tasting a platter of cold cuts while sipping a glass of spritz is definitely a great idea. But which cold cuts to select? Focus on raw prosciutto or the speck of the Alps, of which the balanced flavor will be enhanced, but not only. This cocktail also perfectly balances the delicate aroma and fragrant scent that distinguishes mortadella, and the light and tasty version of the salami par excellence. If you want to offer a cheese tasting, accompanied by prosecco-based cocktails such as spritz, the beloved Spritz or Bellini, it is good to opt for fresh ones such as mozzarella, goat cheese, ricotta or robiola. Last but not least, the spritz is the ideal cocktail for an aperitif based on delicious fish finger food. An example? Shrimp and bacon skewers with curry mayonnaise, simple to cook, crazy to eat. Finally, for an appetizer always based on shrimp and even faster to prepare I recommend this recipe: rice salad with raw prosciutto, shrimp, melon and rocket. Now all that remains is to put the advice into practice! Good aperitif! 😉
