Marinated sardines ❤️
Few ingredients for a refined appetizer full of flavor. We are talking about sardines marinated with lemon and vinegar. In a self-respecting fish menu (and not), one of the appetizers that just can not miss are marinated sardines. In their simplicity, in fact, they are able to conquer everyone: the sour taste of lemon and vinegar goes perfectly with the full and slightly fatty taste of this fish. Everything is then served with oil giving life to a really delicious fish appetizer.
If you have always thought that preparing marinated sardines is complicated, think again. It is one of the fish whose cleaning is absolutely easier and even the actual steps of the recipe are not at all complex. As mentioned, I have prepared marinated sardines with vinegar and lemon because the combination of these two ingredients in a sense goes to cook the fish. Keep in mind that marinated sardines are raw. Raw marinated sardines are an appetizer to be prepared well in advance, because sardines need to flavor well. So prepare them a couple of days before!
Ingredients
1 kg of sardines
3 glasses of vinegar
2 lemons
3 cloves of garlic
1 bunch of parsley
extra virgin olive oil to taste
salt to taste
Preparation
First clean the sardines. Remove the head then open them like a book on the side of the belly removing the entrails and the bone. As they are ready, rinse them gently under the stream of water then dry them with kitchen paper. Prepare the marinade by slicing the garlic and chopping the parsley. Combine them in a bowl with lemon juice, vinegar and a pinch of salt. Arrange in layers, in a baking dish with a lid, the sardines sprinkling each with the prepared marinade. Make sure the liquid covers them completely before storing them in the refrigerator overnight. At the time of serving, drain almost completely from the liquid, season with plenty of oil and serve. Marinated sardines with lemon are delicious but if you are looking for other recipes with this ingredient then we advise you to prepare sardines au gratin: you will be enchanted by their goodness! Alternatively, try the marinated anchovies, which are equally delicious.
Preservation
Marinated sardines are preserved, drained from the marinade and covered with oil, for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
