Siro Pacenti Brunello Pelagrilli Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

It is produced from a single vineyard of over 35 years planted by Siro Pacenti on the north side of Montalcino in the early seventies. Bottled only in exceptional vintages, it is unfiltered and reaches its maximum expression after a few years. Powerful and structured, it is a Brunello that wins time and that knows how to give great satisfaction even to the most passionate.

Tasting note
I really like this Brunello di Montalcino with the nose of honey and notes of red currant and red cherry upfront and then opening more to oak and cedar and some herbs like lavender and dried basil. I tried it with food and alone and it’s great either way. Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color bordering on opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of black cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, smoky, tar, minerals, spices, herbs & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals, cocoa & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. It still has potential for further development with additional aging.
