Carrot, Sorrel and Sesame 



The sweet and sour carrots with sesame are an easy and quick recipe to prepare, a delicious side dish with a pungent taste of sweet and sour made with sugar and apple cider vinegar. Decorate the dish sprinkling, if you like, black pepper and chopped fresh parsley.
Carrots are seasonal vegetables, they can be found all year round like potatoes. This dish can be served as a pleasant appetizer.

INGREDIENTS for 4 people

500 gr. carrots
30 gr. butter 
a tablespoon of sesame seeds (or chopped fresh parsley)  
2 teaspoons of sugar  
3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (or white wine vinegar) 
a clove of garlic 
salt fine
parsley to taste
pepper to taste

PREPARATION

Peel the carrots, remove the ends and boil them for 12 minutes in salted water together with a clove of garlic. Drain the carrots and cut them into sticks in a non-stick pan, melt the butter over low heat add the carrots and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the sugar and caramelize for a minute, you will see that the cooking stock will become caramel sprinkle with apple cider vinegar and let it evaporate.
Complete by sprinkling the sesame seeds, if you prefer add pepper and chopped fresh parsley the sweet and sour glazed carrots can be served both hot and warm.

Serve the sweet and sour glazed carrots
