Pasta ''assaggi''

or Trio of pasta

It is called ‘'assaggi’', a measure of flexibility, adaptability and great customer care ❤️

Pasta, as a symbol of Italianness, is the absolute protagonist of our diet, thanks to an incredible variety of shapes and condiments. Each of our regions has one or more typical formats. Who does not know the famous Apulian orecchiette, the Emilian tortellini, the Tuscan pici, the Sardinian malloreddus? In short, in front of a good plate of pasta, especially if seasoned with good meat sauce, no one would ever back down. Because pasta is poetry. And, as the great director Federico Fellini said: "Life is a combination of pasta and magic".

Enjoy your meal!

When there is pasta on the table it is always a party, however you season it. Even a simple pasta, ready in a few minutes, warms hearts and makes everyone happy. In short, pasta is loved by all palates and becomes an element that unites the family, especially on Sunday lunches and parties, when you have more time to give vent to the imagination and prepare more elaborate first courses. Because pasta, long or short, smooth or striped, always generates a smile. So, enjoy your meal to all pasta lovers!

There is an emotional and neurophysiological mechanism underlying the psychophysical well-being that is felt by eating a plate of pasta, which for the first time has been investigated and scientifically measured at university level. 99% of Italians consume it 5 times a week for a total of 23 kilograms per capita. They are world champion consumers. Pure pleasure.

It was not known, however, that there is an emotional and neurophysiological mechanism underlying the psychophysical well-being that is felt by eating a plate of pasta, which for the first time has been investigated and scientifically measured. This is revealed by an Italian study, by the "Behavior & Brain Lab" of the Free University of Languages and Communication IULM, carried out for the Italian pasta makers of the Italian Food Union. It is the first time that scientific research investigates the rewarding emotional sphere to understand how, much and why we are happy when we eat a plate of pasta, tracing what lights up in our brain.

Here's how pasta ignites happiness
The study confirms that eating pasta causes a positive emotional-cognitive state with results equal, if not even higher, than those recorded with music and sports. The four parameters of analysis examined also tell us that the emotional experience lived during the tasting of the favorite pasta is equal to that generated by the re-enactment of happy memories. Especially those related to the family. In detail:

Memorization Index: with a score of 0.87 on a scale from 0 to 1, the "pasta experience" doubles music (0.43) and doubles sport (0.02) in activating cognitive memory processes.

Engagement Index: pasta is the most engaging stimulus (0.28) compared to music (0.20) and sports (0.03).

Emotional Index: pasta (0.36) is paired with music (0.35) and ahead of sport (0.22) for the best ability to provoke positive emotions.

Happiness Index: it is an indicator of the happiness experienced by the subject and manifested at the level of facial expressions. Once again, pasta ranks 76% on the same level as their favorite song (75%) and, at a higher level, than their favorite sport (54%).

Comfort food
Investigating the consumption habits of test participants, to the question "when do you eat pasta?", the answer that generated a higher score was "when I feel happy" with 1 to 6. Its consumption, in particular, is linked to moments of family sharing (5.10) and friendship (5.07). In addition, the majority of the sample (40%) identified pasta as comfort food. Asked about the three words to be associated with pasta, immediately after the specific references to taste and identity ("Italy", "good") the only emotion immediately associated was happiness. And to the question "how happy does eating pasta make you?", 76% of users answered "a lot".

Happiness/price ratio
"Pasta – said Riccardo Felicetti, president of the Italian pasta makers of Unione Italiana Food – is the food with the best happiness/price ratio, an important value especially today. Sometimes happiness is in the little things, like pasta, the song of the heart and your favorite sport." "We have always known - continued Felicetti - that a good plate of pasta makes people happy, but we did not know why and to what extent. Now comes the confirmation from this research that we commissioned to IULM, in which pasta is elected as the food of happiness. And bringing a bit of happiness into the homes of Italians, at a time like this, for us pasta makers is really a source of satisfaction and pride».
