Cacio e pepe croutons
Cacio e pepe croutons: if you want to prepare a quick and easy appetizer and especially if you have nothing or little more than nothing at home, such as a baguette, even stale. Of course, it happens to everyone: either you have just returned from a weekend, or you are about to leave for the summer holidays, or you simply have not yet done the shopping for the week. Sudden friends or simply laziness, but you want a delicious aperitif with something crunchy, then you absolutely have to prepare the cacio e pepe croutons, super good. For me, appetizer is never chips and olives, but much more.
Ingredients
80 g baguette30 g pecorino Romano cheese1 pinch pepperHalf a teaspoon saltHalf a tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Steps
Grate the pecorino cheese and season it with freshly ground black pepper. You can grind the pecorino directly in the pan on parchment paper. Cut the baguette into slices of 1 and a half centimeters and place it on top of the pecorino cheese on parchment paper (don't forget the ground black pepper). Sprinkle the surface of the cacio e pepe croutons with extra virgin olive oil. Bake in a convection oven at 190° for 10 minutes, or in the microwave Crisp mode at maximum power for 2 and a half minutes. And here they are, ready with cacio e pepe croutons to accompany or to start a lunch with delicious and crunchy appetizers. Turn your croutons and serve them immediately, hot.
