BAKED SCALLOPS AU GRATIN

BAKED SCALLOPS AU GRATIN are perfect to serve as a festive appetizer especially at Christmas and New Year's Eve. The scallops are cooked in their beautiful shells where they are covered with a tasty breading made with bread, aromatic herbs and extra virgin olive oil, after which they go into the oven where a delicious and crunchy breading will form capable of enveloping the mollusk keeping it soft and juicy. The preparation of baked scallops au gratin is really fast: it only takes 10 minutes! What are you waiting for? Choose some nice meaty scallops and prepare them with me!

Ingredients

4 scallops
80 g breadcrumbs
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
thyme (fresh-a pinch)
parsley (fresh) to taste
1 lemon zest (grated)
20 g extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

First cut the bread crumbs into small pieces and put it in a mixer together with parsley, salt, pepper to taste, thyme, oil and grated lemon peel. Operate the mixer: the result must be a wet and not dry breading, so add more oil if necessary. Separately, gently wash the scallops and then remove all the water. Season the shellfish in their own shell with a drop of oil. We then stuff the scallops with the breading obtained trying to cover the shellfish well. Finally, move the scallops to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake at 190 ° C in a PREHEATED convection oven for 10-15 minutes in the medium-high part of the oven until a nice crust is formed. Your scallops au gratin are ready to be served!
