Grilled cheese with ham and melted cheese

A faux Cuban grilled cheese might just be the main course you're looking for. For $1.61 per serving, this recipe covers 21% of your daily vitamin and mineral needs. This recipe makes 1 serving with 852 calories, 37g of protein, and 67g of fat each. Several people have made this recipe, and 164 would say it hit the spot. It can be enjoyed at any time, but it's especially good for the Fourth of July. Head over to the store and pick up the Swiss cheese, and 8 dill pickles, ham, and a few other things to make it today. To consume kosher salt you could follow this main course with the Low-fat crumbs cake (Kosher-Dairy) as dessert. From preparation to the dish, this recipe takes about 12 minutes. All in all, I decided this recipe deserves a spoonacular score of 87%. This score is super.

Instructions

Melt one-third of the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat until the foam subsides. Add both slices of bread and bake, swirling occasionally, until pale golden brown on the underside, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a toasted-side-up cutting board. Place a slice of cheese on top of a slice of bread. Top with ham, spread mustard over ham, then top qith pickles and second slice of cheese. Close the sandwich, with both toasted sides facing inwards. Melt another piece of butter in the pan and reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the bun and cook, swirling occasionally, until deep, also golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove the bun with a flexible metal spatula. Add the remaining butter. Return sandwich to pan cooked-side up. Season with salt. Bake, swirling occasionally, until the second side is deep, also golden brown and cheese is completely melted, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
