Sandwich with salami and peppers
Simply perfect, this sandwich will become the protagonist of snacks and really tasty night snacks. The sandwich with salami and peppers is a really tasty and intense stuffed sandwich, ideal for those who love strong flavors. I prepared it with grilled pepper but, if you want, you can use roasted peppers in oil, after having drained them well and dried from excess oil. In addition, instead of peppers, you can use zucchini or grilled eggplant, in case the peppers are not to your taste.
Ingredients
1 rustic ciabatta bread10 slices of feline salami80 g of philadelphia or robiola cheese1 tablespoon chopped white onion1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsleylittle fresh rocket1 red bell pepper not too bigolive oil to tasteground pink pepper to tasteground black pepper to taste
Preparation
To prepare the sandwich with salami and peppers, start from the preparation of the pepper: wash it very well, remove the stalk, the seeds and the internal white filaments, then cut it into layers. Heat a plate or a grill of cast iron lightly greased with oil on high heat and when it is hot, grill the pepper layers, letting them cook a few minutes on each side, until they are lightly roasted but still quite firm and crispy. Once ready, remove them from the plate and keep them aside. To cook the peppers (and not only those) I use a grill that being in cast iron, retains heat very well preventing sudden changes in temperature, in this way the peppers cook evenly. In a small bowl put 80 g of philadelphia or robiola, a tablespoon of chopped white onion, a tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley, a ground pink pepper and a ground black pepper (the quantities of pepper can vary according to your tastes and if you want you can also omit them), then mix and crush everything with a fork until you have obtained a homogeneous mixture. Cut a rustic ciabatta bread in half, so as to obtain two sandwiches, then open the two halves horizontally and spread the two lower halves with the cream cheese. Place the grilled pepper layers on the cream cheese, add 5 slices of salami to each sandwich, a few leaves of fresh rocket and close with the two upper halves of the bread. Your salami and pepper sandwich is ready to be enjoyed or wrapped and taken wherever you want: to work, to a trip out of town or wherever you want!
