BAROLO DOCG CASCINA DEL TORCC

This is a crazy cheap Barolo from a great vintage. Drinking really well now it is made for immediate gratification alongside: braised meats, grilled beef, lamb, duck, risotto, especially with mushrooms, hard cheeses but not too pungent.  With the great structure this will also benefit nicely from some cellaring.

Description
BAROLO DOCG CASCINA DEL TORCC
Varietal: Nebbiolo
Viticulture: Growing locations: Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Cherasco, Diano d’Alba, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Monforte
d’Alba, Novello, Serralunga, Verduno, Roddi.
Soil: calcareous clay  Maximum yield in grapes: 8 tons/ha

Vinification: destemming and crushing; alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature (28-30°C) on the
skins for a total of around 14-16 days, with targeted racking and returning maximizing the extraction of colour,
aroma and tannic structure. Following the malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred into French and
Slavonian oak for ageing.
Malolactic fermentation: complete.

Tasting Note
Medium translucent garnet color. Nose is grapey, musty and leathery. Palate is really fruit forward with nicely balanced acidity. This is some nice grape juice.
