Figs represent a typical fruit of September: with various shapes and colors, they all have a very sweet taste that can be savored from the fresh fruit or through jams or sweet and savory recipes. But they're not just good. Figs are rich in benefits for our health. Let's see them. 

Figs are fruits rich in sugar, therefore quite caloric (74 kcal per 100gr) and ideal for an energy snack. They are rich in fiber, water and mineral salts such as potassium, iron, phosphorus, calcium and sodium. In addition, they contain vitamin A, vitamin B and vitamin C. Therefore, when taken in the right amount, they provide valuable nutrients that bring many benefits to our health.

Rich in fiber, figs are considered effective natural laxatives for those with intestinal problems and ideal for cleaning us of toxins. These sweet fruits are rich in antioxidants, such as polyphenols that help fight oxidative stress by preventing breast, colon and prostate cancers. The large amount of calcium and other important minerals such as magnesium and potassium, helps prevent osteoporosis and keep teeth strong and healthy. Figs contain enzymes and prebiotics that promote digestion and counteract abdominal bloating. Figs have anti-inflammatory power against acne. In addition, the extract of the leaves helps to significantly reduce wrinkles. Taken at the end of a meal, figs allow you to keep blood sugar under control.
