Rocca Guicciarda Chianti Classico Riserva 2019

Grape varieties: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot

Francesco Ricasoli -32nd Baron, current owner and managing director- has been running the family firm since 1993, with the aim of breathing new life into the quality and personality of the great wines of Brolio, experimenting and highlighting the unique features of the territory and its history.  Barone Ricasoli is the oldest winery in Italy. It is here, in 1872, that the blend for Chianti was created. This one is ripe and layered, with red fruit, chestnut, floral notes, cedar and a fresh, food-friendly acidity. Pair this classic with another: try a Tuscan slow-simmered ragu al chingiale, or your favorite meaty pasta.

Barone Ricasoli a name that has been synonymous with wine since 1141 is the fourth oldest company in the world still runned by its founding family and the first in Italy in the field of wine.  Ricasoli is the most representative wine producer in the Chianti Classico area. With its gentle hills, velvety valleys and thick woodlands of oaks and chestnuts, the 1,200 hectares of property include almost 240 hectares of vineyards and 26 of olive groves.

Tasting Notes:
Intense ruby red in color with slight garnet reflections. To the nose, flavors of ripe red fruit, scents of cherries with delicate balsamic and vanilla notes. The palate is voluminous, sapid, with a great structure. The elegant tannin and the pleasant acidity give this wine a long and enveloping finish.
